The skate contest was the second of three live streaming projects for TheGreatBoarders project. This event took place in the Mall shopping center, in Athens. It was a two day event that included two main concepts, (a) the filming of the warm up day of the event, the editing in sub clips with interviews and highlights and the uploading to the TGB YouTube channel (b) the planning, organizing and delivering the live streaming of the finals of the contest For the live streaming production we used an outside broadcast van, with four cameras and live video mixing. The live broadcast included local and Internet audience. Furthermore, when live we presented videos from the previous day of the contest as well as live replays from best moves and highlights during the live streaming of the contest. The live streaming was presented through The Great Boarders platform, and it was based on a Liveloop iframe. The Livelooq platform included Twitter feed which we updated in real time, and message submission from the Internet audience. These messages where delivered to the event MC and he presented them live to the local audience giving emphasis to user interaction. Finally, we provided and installed basic and standby high speed Internet lines to the event area, and the project was streamed from our content delivery network using main and standby encoding systems.
